Sup,
Im david i am 18 and am from baton rouge, louisiana. I am currently in an import car club called http://www.AFTERSHOKIMPORTS.com and am a member of a forum called SPORTSNIMPORTS. I am currently in the process of graduating high school and I am getting some kind of graduation present. I love to go "off-road" it is one of the funnest things i have ever done. I have a 1994 Eddie Bauer Explorer and was wondering what a good "tire : lift" combination would look aggressive and still give me a descent ride on the road. I was kind of thinking of like a 4" suspension and maybe 33" all terrain(if that would even work). If anybody has any suggestions on what and where i should get this stuff please reply

AFTERSHOK IMPORTS ....Can you feel it?

despite my complete and sincere hatred for rice rockets...welcome to the forums man. That combo sounds good. If your worried about fitting 33's under a 4" lift.....you shouldnt be....they will fit fine and youll have clearence. U might have to regear with 33's....Im not exactly sure so someone correct me if im wrong. What kind of lift were you thinking about? Body? Suspension? what?

I would install a 5.5" superlift or a 6" skyjacker and you shoud be able to run 33's. My 32's rub a little with the sways disconnected. I plan on running 33's once these wear out. I know I will rub more and may have to do a little fender trimming. Hope this helps and welcome to the site. Any more questions just shoot!

Welcome to the site!

Sounds like you have a good idea of what you are looking for. A lift and tires would certainly be a nice gift! Good luck with everything and have fun wheeling.

Happy postin':)

Welcome, you should find plenty of info here. try doing some search's on lifts

Thanx for the responce!

Im still confused as whether just a 4 inch with 33" will fit or get something bigger such as a 5.5-6.0. Im sure theres more to it than just tire and well fitment but Im open to anthing that looks clean and aggresive.

POSITIVE VIBE could you send some pics of ur truck? I appreciate it!

thanks

PEACE

Specvelocity: I have never posted a pic. I do have some stored and on disc but I have never posted one. If some one could enlighten me that would be excellent. Then I would be happy to post some pic for you.

I'm reminded of an old saying........"Go BIG or go home!"

I say go 6" susp. and 35" meats. Bigger is better!!:)

What kind of suspension?
What kind of tires?

Im pretty sure i want to do it. I am also kind of scared because i dont want my finances goto waste because of the true value of the car. If the car bb is at 4500 do i want to put 2000 on it? Something i have been seriously thinking about. If i keep 2000 then i get like 2000 in the next two months i can do a down payment on a new car.

Even with all that said I think im gonna go for it!

PEACE

I'll go ahead and steer you away from Superlift and say go with the 6" Skyjacker. I've had to beef-up many of my Superlift parts because of repeated breakage.

I think I've only heard one time with someone from here breaking something with the Skyjacker kit.

As for tires, I think you need to look at what you'll be doin. Like street 80% of the time or 60% off-road. Something like that. I've ran everything from BFG Mudders to Super Swamper Boggers. My personal favorite was my Super Swamper TSL Radials. Got alot of miles off them and they did excellent in the rocks. But those are my personal opinions.

I would also go with skyjacker. I've had to replace almost all my suprlift parts.

If you do drive alot on the streets then an all-terrian would be perfect for you. There are several very aggresive all terrain tires you can go with. The BFG T/A is quite popular. My fiance's Mazda pick-up has a set on it and I'm impressed with the tire so far.
