Wifes got an '02 Sport. She can't stand the handling (bump handling, body roll, etc). I've done a few searches and decided to go with the Explorer Express rear sway bar and the Edlebrock shocks they sell. I also wanted to lower the front no more than 1" by twisting the t-bars. Can I get away the stock length shocks in the front and will I have to get a re-alignment when lowering it this small amount?

Also, if I do all this chit, is this thing gonna handle any better?

Thanks for the help and I appologize for the newbie question.

It's going to handle better, yes, the ride quality will go down a little though. There seems to be some disappointment with the edlebrock shocks. Get it aligned, $60 vs messing up your tires. Your choice. : )

The Edlebrock shocks are very firm. They may not be what you're looking for to improve the ride. I've heard that Rancho RS5000 are decent. Lowering may also decrease the ride. Although I'm lowred 1" in the front, I don't have any trouble. Just make sure to trim your bump stops :) You will most likely need camber adjusters installed to correct your alignment if you do decide to lower it. These are $15/set at Advance Auto, and you need two sets. Takes less than an hour to install if you're some what mechanically inclined. Just make sure to get an alignment if you do any adjusting in the front suspension.

Just dropped my trac today (again) 2.5 rear, 2 front, the Rancho 5000s work fine. so far the bumpstops have not been a problem.
Handling is fabulous, far more stable, you do feel the bumps in the road a lttle more tho.
All in, a great mod.
front alignment is a must, I needed camber kits
