1997 Explorer XLT
I finally joined the club of crazy but off the wall fun Explorer/Ranger/FORD owners. I live in Sunny South Florida, I have a 1997 Explorer XLT, 5.0, Borg Warner Transfer case, 37" Extreme Mud Grapplers (YES 37 INCH TIRES), and most important of all...It's my daily driver, mudslinger, hole jumping, trail making, fishing, hunting camping, trail riding machine...did I forget to tell you that, I drive it like I stole it! Yes, I do. Anyway, that's about it for me and my Explorer. I am looking for help on lifting, "suspension lift" cheap as possible or possibly doing it myself. I read something about "SOA"? What do i need and how much will it cost? If, I do the SOA swap…what about the front end? Thanks for your help, and I'm looking forward in gaining my knowledge through all of your personal experiences.

How in the world do you have 37s on there and NOW you're asking about lifting it? I agree, gotta see some pictures of this.

Picture/s?

I think i managed to upload one to my profile pic, hoolly cow! i'm not the most savy guy when it comes to computors and technology...but its nearly impossible to cut and paste a simple picture...what's up with that? anyhow, when i get my masters in postong pictures on this site you'll be able to see why i need a "lift" on my Explorer. It has already a 3"body, and supposedly a 3" suspension (but i don't count shackles and torsion bar being cranked up as a suspension lift. Sorry, for the rambling but i like simple? why does everything with technology have to be so damn complicated?

I became an "Elite Explorer" so i could add pic's. Go to my album and check out my 37". let me know what you think...thanks and enjoy.

Yup, you need some lift. How in the world do you turn?
