2013 Explorer Sport
Hey I'm Chad. My wife and I are currently looking at 2013 Explorers. We test drove a '13 Lwxus RX350 Fsport, '13 Acura MDX Advance and my wife liked the Lexus of the two (we really need third row). So those two options got crossed off, besides that where we live the closest Lexus and Acura dealership is 3 1/2 hours away. Also considered the Infiniti JX35 but it's ugly and not worth the 3 1/2 drive to get it serviced or worked on. So we are left with the Explorer.. Currently my wife drives a 2012 Suburban and it could not be a more so horrible vehicle. Can't wait to dump it but will miss the towing capabilities (in which we do actually use to the fullest often) and the space.

I'm leaning towards a fully loaded limited explorer because of the tech options. But I don't want a slouch. So a sport isn't crossed off the list, it just has to be black because my wife doesn't like all of the "guy-ish" black accents that are obviously easier to spot on other colors. She says she is "a mom, I don't need anything sporty, just comfy". So we are at a crossroads...

I do know a couple of people that own the new ones and Love them.I would have looked into buying a new one but we have dogs and our 1996 5.0v8 in back has a straighter rear window, so 2 dog crates fit but the new style is angled to much. the only thing for us would be the expedition which is reduclous how much they want.I think you and your wife would be happy with a explorer . and other then the rusted body we would not part without going into another one.(to bad for the window)The other thing is I bet the gas milage on the ones your comparing is around the same. we get Way more then our sticker says We check every tank summer we average 18-19 winter 16 highest on trip 29(Checked 3 times could not believe it)lowest cold winter 14.3.

Thanks! I think we have decided on a black sport, going to look at it today or tomorrow. I'm relatively excited for the cheaper payment and something smaller for my wife to drive... She's a horrible driver!

If she is that bad of a driver. buy a used one It will be cheeper all around

Hi! I'm new,but always a Ford owner!

:aerostar: Yep! I've got a good old Eddie Bauer Aerostar with 235,000 miles approx. and it's going strong. I'll get on another forum and ask a question about a little problem I've had with it lately. Thanks! don-ohio
