Hey, just introducin myself.. I just bought a '99 XLT... How do I know what my vehicle has in it? like the gears, the rear differential or whatever everyone is talkin about, is there like a place I can put the VIN number into and it will tell me all about my car? Thanks..

the gear's and what diff you have is on the rear pumpkin..

theres a tag on the rear diff thats says something like for ex. 3 55 88 or 3L55 88. that means you would have 3055 gears L = limited slip and a 8.8 ring and pinion ( axle)
