I searched the threads on this subject. Great info. My driver side lock does not work. I bought a new actuator. Can you check the old actuator out by disconnecting the electrical plug from the old actuator and plugging it in the new actuator before installing and pressing the lock/unlock button? I am also having trouble finding a door latch replacement for my 1996 4 door Explorer. (I broke the electrical connector on the latch.) Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Should be able to just plug new one in before you install it; schematic does not show a ground on the actuator. You can also put a test light on the wiring harness plug between the two wires to see if you get a light when you push the lock button.
