Hey guys,

After some members helped me out with exactly what parts I need to re-do my front and rear brakes, I've got the parts. I was going to have a friend of mine do the install, but he's unable to.

Anybody in NJ know a place with a decent price to replace the rotors, calipers, pads on the front , and new drums, cylinders and shoes on the rear ?

I'd do it myself, but I'm a little concerned about bleeding the brakes properly and the assembly/disassembly of the hub cams and such. ( My wife and son sometimes drive in it; while I'd be confident if only I drove it, they don't deserve to get into an accident 'cause I'm a dumba** ) I've never done brakes, and i know they are pretty cut and dry, but why take the chance ?

Thanks guys

Nick

Autozone has good prices on all that stuff and they have life time replacement on most things. Get yourself a chiltons manual if you dont have one already, they are a big help. bleading the brakes is pretty easy, you know when you have it right. Again the Chiltons manual will tell you how to do all that. goodluck.

Thanks for the reply. I already have the manual for the truck. I've studied the pages on the brakes aver and over ( in the bathroom is the best place to read ! IMHO )

Just don't yet have the confidence level to drive on my own brake job :)

If anyone know a reputable place, let me know. Or, if anyone wants to make a few bucks ( and beer ) and lives in Jersey, let me know as well :)

I'd take you up on the beer offer if i wasn't so busy right now. where in jersey do you live? i might be able to recommend a decent shop.

I'm in north jersey ( Passaic County )

Even if the shop is near you, i'd be interested ..

I know, free beer is always tempting !

I'm trying to remember the name of the shop my parents take thier car too. I'll find out tonight. I live in califon (hunterdon county) so i'm not to far from you.

I would recommend Scott tire on rt. 46 in clifton. I’ve been going there for a few years and they do a good job. The prices are reasonable. not the cheapest but nowhere near stealership prices.
