I have the same old problem of power to the aftermarket head unit, but no sound. Except for one thing. My blue/white is connected to the blue/white on the harness...which according to both package inserts should power on the amp.

It's still not powering on. When I turn on the radio, I can hear a very (very) quiet "beep beep" somewhere in the back of the explorer. Which means that something is connected but not amplified, I'm guessing.

Should I just say screw it and run new wires from the head unit?

Maybe just get a 12 gauge and a skeet launcher?

Ok nevermind, I just tore out the amp and ran wire to each individual speaker. It took forever (still not completely done), and that inside panelling is a *****, but my speakers sound great now.

One thing some of you guys might be interested in...if you decide to take out the amp, be aware that your wiring harness will keep power, but lose its ground. I just clipped into the cigarette lighter ground since it is right there, but I was totally blown for a few minutes since I had power to the harness but the damn radio wouldn't turn on. Then a 5 watt christmas bulb came on somewhere in my head, and I connected the ground...viola.
