could be a few things. i would start by checking/replacing the power steering fluid and the serpentine belt. ofet times, if you are low on fluid or if the belt is slipping if you give it gas it will kick in. could also be ps pump. maybe binding if you have a lift.
I did what ERIK2173 said in other thread and seems to work, thanks god!!! because I called at a store and they told me that is 485 $ the pump (notice the country where I live).
Tomorrow I’ll change the steering fluid - but I hope is not the beginning of the end for my steering pump.
