Hi im new this is my first post. sadly it is in need of help.
I have a 95 aerostar given to me by my uncle. Its a really nice van. He told me reverse wasnt working. But it is quite nicely minus one big exception. When you give it gas in reverse is loses all torque and tries to roll forward if on a hill like my driveway. If i let it idle it is just fine. All forward gears shift nicely. Reverse engages as soon as you shift into reverse and if you let off the brake it will back up fine even up a little bit of a steep hill. Any idea on what i could be? nay help is apricated.:D

That was one of the things I thought it could be but wasnt sure if it would only effect it only when the gas pedal was pressed. Also I forgot to mention if on a flat ground it back up real slow when you give it gas backs at idle just as it should. But thanks Ill check it out first thing tomorrow.

It's a good idea to install a manual index sleeve: http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/A4LD_Manual_valve_index_sleeve_p/400-005694701.htm.

This link explains more about it: http://www.sonnax.com/instructions/56947-01-IN.pdf. This link is # 31 in my list of useful threads: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155599. It explains a little more about the Z link. The links in # 19 in my list of useful threads explain how to make linkage adjustments.
