since youve said increasing noisy, i can only assume u mean it has gotten noisy enoughthat it is failing, rear end setups are not something u can do yourself unless u are an accomplished mechanic,,it would seem to be cheaper to change the rear end if uu have a good used one available in wrecking yard,, if u have a 4wd they must be matching gear ratios, you,ve said increasingly noisy,,it would be a good idea to start lookinng for a competent repairman or replacement now as these cars fail at their convenience, nt yours,, when it does fail, its unlikely to be in your yard,, its also better to change to a differential that matches the ratio already there as the comuter matches the driveshaft rpm out with the mph indicated,, any disparity confuses their little pea brain and they constantly try to adjust or give up and lapse into limp home, hope i havent confused u too much,, buck
