Need help for a first time poster.

Yesterday, I plugged an inverter into the back port in the console. It worked for about 30 seconds and then shut down. I try inverter number 2. Nothing at all. Then I notice that the cell phone charger in the front plug has stopped working.

I figure a simple fuse change would do the trick. The manual has #24 listed as that cigar lighter fuse, but it was good. I then proceeded to pull every other fuse, except for that one that is danged impossible to get and everyone one of them was good.

I have an 04 XLT.

Is there an in-line fuse I have to track down???

Once you replace the fuse or fuseable link you need to determine why it blew.. What is the rating on the inverter and what electrical device were your trying to use with it? All inverters can supply 120v, but only expensive untits can supply enough power (amps) to run power hungry devices.. So you need to match an inverter to the device you're trying to use.

More to explain

The problem is>
The fuse is good, but the outlets still have no power...
Can anyone help explain why I might not be getting power to them even though all the fuses appear to be in great shape. I replaced the 24 fuse and they still don't work.

Thanks

Just saw the message about the fuse box under the hood. Thanks for the pointer, I'm going to go look at it now. Where in the thing?

I had the exact same thing happen to me by just plugging in my portable dvd player. First my front socket went than two weeks later my rear socket went out. All fuses are good inside and under the hood. Please clue me in once you figure out a remedy to this madness. I've tried a little bit of everything so far and got NO WHERE.
