Thought I had a bad head gasket... After researching on this great site, I checked the Heater control Valve.... It was leaking!!!... Replaced it today.. Took about 5 minutes... Kragens Wanted 26.00, The Dealer wanted 20 and so did Napa... Kragens was made in China, Napas is made in the USA and costs less!!!!

Where is that valve at?

The Valve is on the Right Side(passenger's side) near the A/C Box.. It is black with two heater hoses attached to 4 nipples and a vacuum line also attached. I thought I bought an Explorer with a bad head or head gasket because I was loosing fluid and the white stains on the exhaust manifold..The Valve is Right on top, YOU can't miss it...What it does is divert the hot water away from the heater box inside the cab so the air can work more efficiently.
