Well it's been a while since I last posted about "MY" own Explorer. As some of you probably remember, I was from BC, Canada and the last Explorer I had was eaten by the local car wash where I was from. Well we had since moved from Maple Syrup Land back to the good old US of A!
Anyways, I am proud to announce that I am back and have adopted a new (to me) Explorer. It's a 1996 Eddie Bauer 4.0 4WD. I wasn't really planning on getting such a nice truck as all I wanted was one that I could lift and put 33" tires on to better navigate the supermarket parking lots and the terrain to and from my kids' school. But luckily for me, my hubby's mechanic friend called and offered us his client's Explorer.
She's a one owner, un-abused and immaculate truck! All service records from day 1 including window stickers and warranty card. The ex-owner was a retired commercial pilot who basically bought the truck to haul his flight gear and occasionally travel to the Napa Valley. We he since had passed away and the truck left at my hubby's friend's garage after receiving some services that included all fluids replacement (full synthetic!) and whatever the truck needed.
She has a mere 160,000 miles on the odometer and all maintenance (and then some!) were done on or ahead of schedule since day 1. Every service detail neatly bound in a binder with receipts attached! The interior is spotless but the exterior on the other hand is not as pristine. It has sun damages on the roof but overall, she is straight! Aside from the faded roof, nothing major to report aside from a couple door dings from living in the city of San Fran.
Well, the plans are to moderately lift the truck via TT, 2" long springs and a 3" BL. I still believe that looking good is still the best way to represent the soccer mum thing! Also in the plans are cold air intake and a cat back exhaust to help with MPG. Maybe an under drive pulley kit and definitely 4.56 gears!
Well enough of me blabbering about the new Explorer. The pictures below should speak for itself! Enjoy everyone and happy motoring!!!
