I have a 1994 Explorer, 4x4...

First drive of the day normally, I can reverse out of the driveway, but shifting into drive ( or overdrive, or 1, or 2) is HARD ( it's an automatic). Can rev it quite a bit, and it will finally catch. It will slip and take a few revs to get it to catch when I stop at lights/signs and such... After it's been driving a bit, it won't do it anymore at all, and it drives perfect.... Fluid is kept where it's supposed to be, everything is clean... Debating getting rid of it, but if it's an easy fix... Would prefer to keep it!

How long since a transmission service was done? Usually once a transmission starts to slip bad the damage is done, some Ive seen a fresh fluid help with minor slip issues. The longer you drive it/have the transmission slipping the worse it will get most likely.

We are going to do a pan/gasket change tomorrow. It's only been doing this for about a week or so...
