Where can I get the notorious foam intake manifold insulator block???
Mine was 90% gone and acorns took its place..damn squirrels!
Ford dealers can't give me a part number...say it's probably included if I get a new intake. Probably???

IIRC, most toss the noise "insulator" when they find the bag torn with coolant
soaked foam when replacing their lower thermostat housing. I know I did. YMMV.

Are you certain its primarily for noise? Some say it protects the plastic intake from excessive heat from the block. Seems like it could be for both??
Thanks for your input on the subject. 'm just trying to be sure before I re-install engine.

Sound or heat protection, if you ant to put something in place of the OE bag how about a piece of Dyna-mat?

I'm looking into other solutions as the oem foam block in just not available without purchasing a new intake manifold.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it.

Could you use spray foam?
