whoa, thats like the same setup as me, 98 X, 2 12 kicker comps, except im undecided on what amp, which one are you gonna use?

I plan on getting a pyramid 1000 watt 2 channel amp

I would strongly advise against pyramid anything.

When it comes to audio, you pretty much get what you pay for it (obviously not all the time). There are reasons lower watt amps can be 2,3 or even 4x as much. That said, I have no clue how much the pyramid amp costs.

Trust me, I went a little cheap on my system and it literally burned up... now I gotta fork over even more cash. Read my sig.

Ever look at the JBL 1200.1 ?

AVOID ALL PYRAMID stuff - it is junk

What do you want out of this, lots of bass or good sound quality (I see you don't mention speakers at all just subs). And how much are you willing to spend total. The JBL 1200.1 would be great for those subs.

As for install, it is pretty easy as long as you take it slow and read whatever you can. Take a look at this from Crutchfield - http://www.crutchfield.com/download/S-oGAG6BBlON1/CarGuide.html

Where would you go for the cheapest prices online?

thezeb.com is cheap. Personally I would get it done at a local shop. No shipping.

i went to: onlinecarstereo.com for my 4-way 6x8's, i was pretty happy with them, great prices and a huge selection

sounddomain is pretty cheap too, and crutchfield is excellent (free shipping w/ orders over 200, and a possible 10% discount)

Please put Pyramid out of your mind, save up a little longer and go for a higher quality amp. Search on ebay for something like a Soundstream Rubicon series amp, they're rock solid and the best design out there for the money.
Also, just a thought...have you ever considered a dual voice coil sub instead of 2 two single subs? It'll save some space and sound as good if not better, especially if you go with a quality amplifier.

If you want to know how to install the sub then go to diy.com and search ford explorer. It gives you the pics and instructions for the whole job.

kalel33... that brought me up to some website sorta like home depot?
