O/D idiot light issue-urgent answer needed

Thanks in advance for any repsonses. We are in teh process of moving(using the vehicle daily), and had the front calipers and hoses replaced today. Later today on a run with some things, the wife came to a stop sign and the O/D disengaged light on the dash started to blink and won't stop when the vehicle is running. Could the shop have kno0cked a sensor calbe loose? the o/d button still works. She tried it. Thanks for your help?

If you turned the engine off and back on, will the od light stop blinking?

Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to reset the computer. If the light comes back on, have the codes read to see what they say.

The O/d light is telling you that the transmission sences that there is something wrong. Could be any number of things. If it was a one time glitch it won't come back on after resetting the computer. If it does the trans very well may need opened up to check out what's wrong.

Hey, I had the same problem with my 97 Eddie, it kept flashing. I noticed it flashing while doing 140km/h on the highway, exited then removed the battery cables to reset the computer. NO GOOD. and the over drive kept kicking in since it was automatically set to that high speed, so my engine would rev alot. Now it is all fine. What I did to it was I would turn it off manually by pressing the O/D button in your gear changer, whenever the light comes on, after a while it should stop, and you should be able to turn it on and off after with no problem.


on another issue, my airbag light keeps coming on, had it checked and the mechanics said its nothing, also changed the sensor switch in it, but still sometimes i dont get it, but when i overspeed it comes on. anybody wanna take a shot at this?
