Oct 26 Talk on Ford Technology
Oct. 27th about 60 min talk by Dennis Scheutzle of Ford at Univ. of Wash. presented a nice review of tech history and future directions. Chap in audience asked a question regarding improved ability for owner/driver to access sensor/monitoring data (from maintenace, repairs, etc) and it sounded like Ford does not plan to make this feature available. The entire presentation is available via streaming video from Univ. of Washington web site EDGE (engineering distant learning site).

There was mention of a hybrid (internal comb. engine, battery, electric motor, regenerative braking, etc.) powered Ford SUV in about 3 years. Also, mention of need to build touch vehicles for use in countries with rough roads.
