I'm wondering what the oem brake pad material is that Ford uses. I heard that they use organic which does not have very good heat characteristics and that's why Ford is known for brake fade?

I heard the police interceptor pads are semi-metallic, which is why they are noisy and provide much more dust, but have better heat characteristics.

I'm trying to buy new brake pads and I'm wondering what's the best to go with, organic, semi-metallic, or ceramic?

Wagner OEX pads work great. They last longer, produce less dust, stop shorter and are quiet. I find very little dust on my wheels with these pads.

Ceramics are easier on rotors and cleanup but if you want the "best" braking you want to go with semi metallic. Just about all full size trucks come with semi metallics for braking performance and stopping distance.
