Off center steering

My '92 XL's steering wheel is not straight when I'm driving straight. It's turned too much to the left by about 2-3 inches. My body man said to take it off and adjust it on its splines, but there are no splines like that. Is it in the tie rods? Would an alignment fix it? It's fine, but not very comfortable and looks dumb to passengers. Any suggestions?

Mine is the same way except it is to the right. Mine was straight until I rotated my tires. Try rotating your tires and see if that fixes it.

Had the same problem with my CJ7 after a wreck. Seems that the steering rod has an adjustment and that's all that was required. The alignment should do the trick.
