I have a 2002 explorer limited and the oil cap will not come off. I need to add some oil but the cap will no come off. I have pushed, pulled, twisted, and jerked but it won't come off. What should I do?

Thanks.

I would suggest using some WD 40 on that bad boy and letting it sit a while. I had an issue like this a while ago and WD 40 helped it come right off along with some elbow grease

Is yours one of the ratchet style caps? Mine turns both directions but won't come off. Looking for a suggestion as how to remove it too.

Go to Jiffy Lube.....they'll not just get it off, they'll lose it too!

I just used a really large channel lock plyer and was able to remove it.

Ditto. Wrap a rag around the cap so you don't leave "teeth" marks, and lube the threads before replacing.

You can try using a jar opener gripper if you have one. Another option would be to use a strap wrench.
