I am planning to instal an oil temp gauge and an trans temp gauge in my 96 X.
My question is where do I get an "Y adaptor" so I can use both the old oil pressure sender toghether with the new oil temp sender? Is the thred size 1/8" ?
Question # 2: What is the outside dimmensions on the trans oil tube (from cooler to trans) ?
Is it 3/8" or 5/16" ?
The setup I am going to use is Autometer 4357 & 4347 Ultra Lite.
I`m hoping some of you have done this before me and can give me some tips & trics.

Best Regards

Oil temp guages should be installed in their respective sumps. Installing these guages in the areas that you are considering will give false indications of fluid temperatures.

For your motor oil, slightly below the oil level sensor should suffice, but it does need to be below the level of the crankcase oil to indicate the temperaure of the oil. Same with the transmission...... install the guage in the line to the cooler and you can watch the guage fluctuate as convertor "slip" wanders around. Install the trans guage in the return line and it will give a fair indication of engine coolant temp.

The downside to these temperature guages is that they are excellent "targets" for rocks and tree stumps.
