OK, Jasper engine, has about 9000 miles and about every 2200-2300 miles I have to add a quart of oil(normal driving). There are no outward signs of oil leakage and the engine does not appear to be smokin. Coolant is fine, no oil contamination. Engine seems to run great and gets good mileage.

It's going into the mechanic on Tuesday (07-06) for it's required Jasper Engine check up, mechanic will be looking for a possible problem. I think it could be the rings, but not sure, any ideas.

:fire:

I knew it!!! I told them it was true but NO ONE BELEIVED ME. There is clearly an oil theif running around:p

Id say put your hand in front of the exhaust pipe (Dont burn yourself mind you) and wait and see if your hand gets covered with black stuff....i think thats a good sign of burning oil

At 9K your just starting to get the engine broken in, will bet the mechanic tells you the rings are not seated yet, he may be correct.

I hope that the rings just aren't fully seated yet. As I said it runs great. The exhaust pipe is relatively clean and I held a white sheet up to the pipe, there is no black/blue exhaust or residue on the sheet.
