Is there a way to increase the output of the stock subwoofer on my 98 EB?

Thanks.

Um, i dont have the EB audio, but with any amplifier, u can see if their are gain controls, and crossover settings. Turning your gain up will make it louder, and setting your crossover accurately iwll help as well. Also, check how its wired, if you wire it in parallel, it will be louder, but sloppier. Series, it will be tighter, but not as loud.

One thing that I did on my old 99 was added an amplified stealth enclosure from MTX, takes up no space, requires only minor wiring skills and sounds awesome. I now have the unit for sale and its $225 shipped to the 48 states, it retails for $449 new and its only 4 months old. Otherwise you can use a JL audio box or q-logic box with amp. All of which are better alternatives than stock in my opinion.

Best of luck,
Jason

hey whats up, i hardly post on this forum but am constanly on another... there is a guy that posted a link to some small subs that have a great excursion level and have great bass output, as the forum is down right now so i cant post the link because i dont know what it is, but as soon as its back up ill look for it for you.

the sub is a 6.5" right? well ill message them and see what they recomend for that size as they have orderd speakers off of the site before

well i found the link its here... http://www.acoustic-technologies.ca/
as for increasing the stock sub output i wouldnt do it because its just as much work as adding a new sub, but adding some sorta port to the box might work (havent tried it but if your really desperate you could just to see what you get), you could probably add more dampening material to the inside of the box, or taking some out.

ive tried wiring an aftermarket amp in to the explorer trying to keep everything else stock and had no luck with fining a remote wire in the back... so you'd have to add a switch to turn the amp off when your not using it.

parallel or serries have no effect on the sub as it is SVC not DVC
