Well boy's new here so I thought I'd tell you my tell of woe! The wife just had to have a new dog to keep the old dog company so off to Pullman, Wa to get the little turd no sooner make's it up the hill and she's callin me my car's making funny noises! OK turn around and come home so she did, makes it down the hill and calls me again, Its smoking real bad OK take it to the plant and park it I'll look at it when I get off. So I do,smoking real bad was an understatement!!!! so I took it home and started checking no compression #4 so I pull the engine and tear it down, It ain't good #4 piston is now on the wall of shame! 1.5"x1"hole top and down the ring lands. So I've built about every other kind of ford engine why not a 4 liter!!!! Any suggestions on the build for a little more power???

G'day.

do a 302 swap for more power lol.

I'd love to but have not been able to find a donor 5.0 explorer's around here are rare as hen's teeth

Same story on 5.0 donors down here in FL. They're around, but any Ex that is drivable (V6 or V8) is $2k+, and the asking price is $1k+ for trucks that need a new motor or transmission.
