Obviously hood is nort latching down correctly so I'm only driving locally at a slow speed...

First question is do I just need another appropriately sized bolt and the threaded part is still there (not visible to me) and I just need to screw the bolt in or was there a nut back there and that also fell away... If there was a nut then I'm guessing there are lots of things I'd have to remove to get access to the back side of where the bolt extends to attach a new bolt and nut.. Help!

Second question... I need tro drive back 250 highway miles from PA to NYC. Is there an obvious and common and temporary fix so the hood wont blow off the car...

You can use any regular M6 nut and bolt plus two washers here
Fasteners to be threadlocked by loctite 242 or so

If you want to get the OEM solution you will need to purchase the so called adjusting m6 nut (the one that holds by itself inside the hole

Since this is a safety issue..recommended to be fixed by professional mechanic
