Here's one from left field; I really, really want the outside temperature display in my Honda CRV puddle jumper. I was thinking it would be great if I could collect the individual components from an Ex to transplant. Does anyone know which components are required to accomplish this and are they dedicated to the outside temp or muddled together with other wiring and instrument controls.

IIRC, one of my past Exs had the rear view mirror temp and the other near the odometer. I have a couple blank covers I can use to locate the display so I'm relatively flexible with donor parts.

I'll likely buy used parts as I'd like this to be as low $$$ as possible.

Any ideas?

Mine is displayed on the HVAC control panel. IIRC my last Honda was the same. From an engineering and cost perspective, I would think it would be better to just swap mirrors. A quick search on e bay gets a new Gentex Auto Dim/Temp/Compass/Map Lights for right at $200. I'm sure you could find one used cheaper.
