Hello everyone. I've run into a problem with my 07 with a 4.6. The gauge indicates the truck is overheating, but it doesn't seem to be actually hot. If I shut it off for a couple minutes the gauge goes back to normal and stays there. I thought it was a faulty CHT sensor but that didn't fix the problem. Radiator and overflow tank are both full, and the fan is working properly. Anybody else experience this issue?

I recently had that issue and I replaced the CHT sensor but I haven't had it overheat since (but its only been probably 100 miles). I am also working on replacing the radiator soon because I have a leak, apparently when Carmax replaced it they used a cheap one.

Have you discussed this with your Ford Dealer, RZS_MALICE and GSU4x4? You may locate one here. I'll get your vehicle feedback documented, as well. Just send me a PM with your full names, phone number, VIN, and any other details you'd like included.

Thanks,

Todd

It definitely seems like an electrical issue to me, maybe I'll look into the wiring harness to the sensor, I did find a huge mouse nest under the intake when I changed my plugs. But that was a few months ago and this problem has only been occurring for a couple of weeks. Thanks for the replies.

I have not, but me and a buddy just replaced my radiator and belt 2 days ago. So far I haven't seen any leaks and no overheating issues yet.

Thanks for the update, GSU4x4.

I’m glad to learn that everything is going well your way. If the symptom reoccurs, please send over the information Todd requested, and I’ll get it documented!

Have a great weekend! :)

Tricia
