Owners of Early 4.0l SOHC - Poor Performance/Economy and Rough Idle

is there a way to "test" to see if the lower intake manifold gaskets need to be replaced? i had mine done under the recall about a year and a half ago, and im just wondering if its possible that they ever need to be "redone?" i thought robert said he had to have his redone once; and my truck has been running ok, but i dont remember how it used to run, so i cant tell if it should be better or not.

Mine were replaced a second time but that was only because of Ford's policy to change them now when they have to change the noisy tensioners. The first time mine needed replaced, I diagnosed it by spraying propane down around the lower intake manifold while monitoring my short term fuel trims. Sudden change while propane was being sprayed indicated a leak. Mine were still working fine the second time they got replaced, but due to Ford's policy they went ahead and replaced them again.
