actually, i beleive there are 2 sensors (my 94 has 2) one on the left and one on the right side of the headers... just forward of the cat as previously mentioned
I know the early 1st gens only had 1 O2S. Mine is a 94 and it has 2. Mine cost about $44 each if I remember correctly, but its been a while so my memory may be off.
BTW, its a PITA job...the drivers side O2S is a pain in the ... to get to, nearly impossible even with a swivel socket unless you really raise up the truck. It's hard to get any leverage too.
I think the wrench you need is a 21 or 22 mm. The best way I found is to use the closed end of the wrench. So you will need to unplug the sensor and then feed the wiring through the closed end of the wrench. The plug may be a pain to get to. The first time I changed the sensor, it looked like the original one and I ended up pulling the front passenger tire so I could get both hands on the plug through the opening in the wheel-well.
Also, remember that the new O2 sensor will come with a plastic cover over the element. Make sure you do not touch the element once the cover is off or you may be changing the sensor sooner than it took you to change the current sensor.
Yes, it is a PITA. My AutoZone had an O2 Sensor tool kit on their "tool-loan" program. Cost $15 deposit, and it came with 3 different funky sockets depending on how you can get to it. Worked great, so the real PITA turned out to be disconnecting the electrical connector (bad location on mine).
