Started it the other day, drove 4 blocks, turned it off, returned 5 mins later, stone dead.

Battery is relatively new

Swapped in the battery which is known to be good from the 96, it was dead before I'd finished tightening up the posts

So today, I had to boost it again, got it in the shop and I put the test lamp on between the + post on the battery and the + cable. the test light lit up.

I put the battery charger on the battery on the setting to start a vehicle with a dead battery (crank setting)

I put the key in and it wouldn't fire up, clicking noise, but not enough juice to start it.

while the key was in the on position, I noticed that the odometer was rolling, but the vehicle wasn't running, and wasn't moving.
the fuel pump can be heard to be pumping too and all the gauges on the dash were fluctuating....

any suggestions?
