On my way to work this morning my parking brake light flashed on and off. I haven't had the parking brake on in awhile.

I tried to engage it and release it several times, but the light was randomly on then off and then again.

The parking brake itself seems to work fine. No other dash lights seem to have an issue.

I was checking fuses this weekend, as my horn doesn't work (still working on that), but put everything back where I got it from. Could it be a simple fuse being loose?

Anyone dealt with this before?

Sort of, the switch gets finicky. It sticks a bit. try some cleaner on the connection.

it might not be the parking brake that's causing the BRAKE light to come on. some vehicles will turn on a BRAKE light if you low on brake fluid. check your brake fluid reservoir level just to be safe. the parking brake switch will usually work or not work (typically the latter) but low brake fluid level might turn on the BRAKE light intermittently when you go up/down hill or around a corner.

Koda is exactly right. Ford uses that light as a warning of a low brake fluid level in the reservoir. Add a little brake fluid to the reservoir and it should stop. The sensor at the bottom of the reservoir can also vibrate loose and leak fluid/cause a low reading, so make sure it is tight. I think the sensor is the only thing on the master cylinder reservoir that has wires running from it. Good luck.

I appreciate the feedback.

As of right now, no problems. Checked all the connections to make sure nothing was loose. Added a little brake fluid (wasn't full but not low either).

No light flickering or anything since OP.

Thanks!
