Hello everyone,

I just recently replaced my lower ball joints, my upper control arms, and outer tie rod ends. Then I took it in to get an alignment. I drove it about 10 miles for the alignment and then 10 miles back. I didn't hear a single thing in that time, but maybe I just didn't notice. Then I got brand new tires all the way around. Then my wife drove it about 90 miles and didn't hear a thing. The next day I was driving and then as I got in to town I noticed a squeal.

I've determined that the squeal is coming from is coming from the passenger front wheel. The car has 83k miles. It seems that the noise doesn't happen in reverse, but it is hard to tell because of lack of speed. I remember when doing the ball joints that I didn't like move the half shaft around. I also didn't regrease the spindle end. I'm thinking that it might be a hub assembly...sigh those things are so freaking expensive. Anyway, I was thinking about pulling the spindle out a bit to grease it up and see if that helps. Otherwise, I think I might need to replace the hub.

What do you guys think might be the problem? Sorry for the long post. I hope to get this fixed soon.

Thanks

OH yeah, I have a 01 EB (AWD)

Was it a high pitch squel or kind of a groan? Does it go away when your turning the wheel a certain way.

It is a high pitched squeal. Turning the wheel doesn't seem to do anything.

Well I decided to go ahead and replace the hub. It appears that was the problem. Either the hub was going out or there was some gunk in between the hub and shaft. All I know is that I replaced it and I can't reproduce the noise like I could before. Hopefully that was it.
