Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the Ranger section. Do you have a schematic diagram to see what else is on the same line? On some models (at least on the older models), the wiring in the transmission harness is on the same line. Bad insulation could short against the pan. Check the O2 wiring to see if it shorted against the exhaust system.
