i dont want like a gazillion HP gain so i can race rice burners, i just want something with a little boost in power, and maybe even better gas mileage, like a cold air intake, or something of that nature

what can i get?

you can get the kkm air filter, then id go with exhaust. there a bunch of different opinions on exhaust , so id do a searchon here for them then go from there.

why the kkm, i dont know much about it, so enlighten me :-)

the kkm is basically just a box to conical filter upgrade.. personally if I were to do it again I wouldn't get one, instead I'd get an actual intake kit with a mandrel bent tube, look on ebay for a CAI for exploreres, you'll find em, they run about $100-$150 I'd say

I didn't see any power gains at all with my kkm, but either way upgrading from your box filter to any kind of conical filter is an advatange because if nothing else.. you get a cleanable filter

heres a kkm:

why not? :D

My first mod was a throttle body spacer. The guy at this off road place told me there was "no cold air induction kit for my year". Then he recomended the TB spacer. I'm really not sure if i got any HP gains with it or not.

K&N intake, JBA Borla or Flowmaster exhaust, JBA headers, BBK TB, programmers,...theres alot of $hit out there.

Mac Intake From Explorer Express

We now have the Mac Intake for the 1997 V6 OHV #3640 $144.95

The Pro-M 75mm Mass Air Sensor is optional $244.95.

Here is a picture.

ya thats the one I was talking about, if you plan to go that route I definatley recommend that you go with something like that instead of a conical filter upgrade, it may cost more, but not much more.

I would have already done it myself, but I already have a conical filter and I do not want to spend $120 and the only change be the tube

I was thinking the same darkfox, but I'm not so sure performance gains would be better. Maybe for asthetics. Is there anyone who would sell just those pretty mandrel pipes for a reasonable price?

Hey John V. do they make that intake for the 95 X. I've been searching for about three months for an intake like that for my 4.0 X. I've even thought about doing the pvc pipe that some guys here did.

Please help me!!!!!!:(

k+n makes an intake like that, i just went with the air filter up-grade and i did notice a slight increas on the highway

K & N does have the FIPK for the 1995. It is a little pricey, but it is the only choice. The 1995 is weird because the mass air sensor is located inside of the air box. You have to take the mass air sensor out of the box and mount on a stand.

The other option is to do the homemade pipe style. I just looked at the one that ipozestu did on his truck. It came out great and saved a lot of $$$.

By the way, it is possible to install the Pro-M MAF on a 95' when you do this conversion. It does require a harness adaptor from Pro-M.

thanx for the help guys. I think i'm gonna go with the K&N. I saw the filter but I never saw the intake tube so I thought they didn't make it for the 95.

once again thanx (who do I send the check too:D :bounce: )
