Looking for a Picture of the stock location of the temperature sensor for the Overhead console for a 2003 Explorer Sport. Think any Gen II Explorer works. I see an empty two pin connector dow low in front of the radiator and I'm curious if thats it or if somethings missing.
Vehicle currently does not have the OHC thus no temp/compass readout; but I plan on adding it.
Thanks in advance

is that the Ambient temp sensor?

Yes, The sensor for the temp(ambiant) thay will display on the OHC

the location for it is behind the drivers headlight. however, if your truck didnt come with one, i would say, if there is one there, not to use it. dont know why its there, but it may be for something else. you will have to get a ohc, harness, plate sensor, and pigtail for it, and hard wire it all in.

According to the wiring diagram, the ambient temp sensor has two wires - DkBlue/Yel and DkBlue/White - so check the wire color at that plug. Fair chance it is there; manufacturers often use the same wiring harness across multiple trim/option lines. Good luck.

if it's what i'm thinking it is, it's a weird looking thing. black plastic, about an inch in diameter, pointed on the side facing the grille and it kinda just flops around loosely attached to the radiator core support.

Fog lights?
