Well.... I had just picked up a used 96 Eddie Bauer Explorer from a good friend. It has 158k on the odo, but it has been VERY well taken care of. FULL Amsoil Synthetic treatment since owned.

Here is the issue: When excellerating thru all gears, I experience a shutter or vibration when the truck shifts into the last gear. Now, if I ease it in to the last gear then it's fine, but if I keep excelerating it will get the shakes. I've worked on mustangs for 6yrs now and can tell it is definitely the tranny created this problem. Also, it did sit for almost a year and some of that time it was VERY VERY cold.... not sure if that makes a difference. Could something within the tranny be "sticking"

Anyone have any thoughts? Suggestions?

Since it sat for a year, I'd do a flush job and filter replacement.

Torque converter shutter? Fluid change; possible additive if still continues should help greatly.

Also look into replacing the EPC solenoid. You might want to visit the Transmission forum for more information.
