what does ERROR 70 mean? it get this every now and then and the only way to remedy this is to hit the reset button. Ive been using Pioneer decks and changers ever since they had the M series and ive never seen anything like this. (in fact it have a CDX-3 single slot sitting right here on my desk, an oldie but a goodie), anyone else have this experience or can decipher this code?

My pioneer 6 does the same thing ..Noticed it happening only when I put a certain cd in, unpluged to clear..Thru the disk away 6 months ago and hasn't happened since..Must of been badly scratched or had something on it's surface...

According to the manual for the CDX-P650 (6-discs), the error codes:

10, 11, 12, 14, 17, 19, 30, 50, 60, 70, A0, or A1

This indicated there is an electrical or mechanical fault.

Treatment: turn the car ignition switch off and on again, or press the source switch on the multi-CD controller to set CD playback again.

I hope this helps.

mechanical or electrical default? hmm, like what?. i changed the position of the changer from horizontal to vertical, could all kinds of crap be getting in there? like i said the only way to remedy this is to press the tiny reset butting that is next to the eject button. hmmm.
