Plastic on passenger mirror broke

This may be a first of its kind...I am a rural mail carrier, and bend the passenger mirror in when delivering. One day I pulled it in a bit too far; it started to rain, and I powered the window up to hear a nice popping sound, and found that the glass had "removed" the plastic part that holds it in place! Can I get just the stability piece of plastic from a yard, or am I forced to do the whole assembly? It just dangles now; everything else works.....

Not sure exactly which piece of the mirror you are referring to. Which part is dangling? The base where it pivots, the entire assembly where it connects to the door/window area, or the plastic around the mirror? A picture would be helpful.

However, depending on the particular model (puddle lamps, heat) arent too pricey. People sell them pretty regularly on this forum. Ebay will get you a used complete assembly for less than $30 delivered. If you pull on at a yard I cant imagine would be more than $20. It takes maybe 15 minutes to install a complete assembly.
