Please fix my Eddie! 4.6 Stalling at idle when revved.

Hi Everybody

could you please tell me where is the location of the IAC valve in a 2006 explorer XLT

Please include a picture with a highlighted IAC Exact location

Thnaks

2006 does not have and IAC. It has an electronic throttle body and the engine computer opens the throttle body accordingly to control idle speed.

Almost any car, when you start the AC(air conditioner), the RPM's will drop.

IAC and AC are not the same thing in case you are wondering.

but will it drop to almost zero marker a few times then back to normal, its like if the car is going to stop or shutdown , i mean it happens for 3 or 4 times , and sometimes i hit the gas just to get it to normal , is this normal??

i have a right hand drive car 98 explorer in the uk - and i could not find an answer to this that was not going to cost a fortune - but after lots of trial and error mine was simply the OVERDRIVE sticking. that was the reason it took a while before cutting out no matter how hard i tried at traffic lights and roundabouts - and we have lots of them over here!!!! i simply drop the gear down to 2 then 1 when i know i am coming to a stop and press the switch on the side of the gear lever!!! trust me it will not stall 95% of the time - sometime if you are stuck for a while it will try to rear (rev and try to cut out on its own) - dont worry if that happens just stop - push the lever to park and press the button again before starting - it will then drive away as normal. you just need a bit of practice - i have now done well over 5k miles of stop start - stalling only once on average on a full day and it hasn't cost me a penny. give it a go before someone tries to convince you it will cost mega bucks it is just the overdrive - good luck from the uk!!!
