PLEASE HELP ASAP!!! Stuck in Park!

So I go to go for a meeting about 10 minutes ago and my Explorer is STUCK IN PARK!! I can't drive it anywhere!

Its done this once before, 3 days ago when we were in another city. I searched it up and it said to rev the engine...??? I did, and it worked the first time....This time its a no go.


SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

Are you parked on an incline? If so, push the vehicle in the opposite direction a little and then try to release it from park.

If not on an incline, there is a switch (interlock)on the brake pedal that allows the shifter to move into gear. That might be broken.

Do you brake lights come on when you hit the brake? If not it could be the brake switch or the wiring. I had to re solder the wiring in a 95 taurus. It had an intermittent stuck in park problem.
