Please Help!!!!!! Electrical Problems

I'm having electrical problems, my power windows and radio work sometimes???? Basically they work after the car has been sitting for a period of time. I already replaced the instrument cluster, fixed the door wires??? I talked with a friend of mine that is a Ford tech, and he ran it for codes and nothing?? he even swapped the rear defrost relay to the assecory relay and still nothing. It seems that when the car gets hot then shut off they don't work, so something is heating up shorting it out. I would like to fix this myself, because he(my friend would have to have the car for a while and as of right now its my only vehicle, and we live quite a distance away. And help would be great.

ok,I just replaced the defroster relay and the delay accessory relay, and that didn't fix the problem, I'm still thinking its the instrument cluster, since this is where the nightmare began....Again its only sometimes after the vehicle is shut off that the windows, radio, and rear defrost don't work like after everthing is warmed up.......Please help......................

What's the history on the IC replacement? Did you swap it for cosmetic reasons or was the original defective? What you describe sure sounds like a bad solder joint on a board somewhere. The early build '02s have a GEM that controls relays but on the later builds that changed to the IC. What's your build date?

I'm not sure of the build date, i'll have too look that up tom. as for the IC the whole unit died.... The new works everything, but when the rear defrost works, when it does, i can hear it clicking on, off.....
