Please help

long story short my X was making a loud screaching noise while I was driving today. It sounded like worn pads do. I pulled the wheel off. Needs new pads. Come to find out my caliper was missing a bolt (this would explain the noise while driving) pulled the rotor off and turned (where the wheel would go) still making a weird noise. Im thinking its the ball bearings in the knuckle of my cv shaft. Does any one know if I can add more grease to this and how to do it and what type to use. If that doesn't work I guess im stuck buying a new cv shaft. Could it be something other than the cv shaft.
