I am looking for a Poly transmission mount for my 1994 Ranger 4X4 which should be exactly the same mount as my 1991 Explorer. Does any one know who makes one and where I could buy it? I checked with Energy Suspension and they only make them for those bowtie vehicles as far as I know. My Ranger suffered the dreaded transmission fluid loss and self destruction as commonly happens. I never even thought to check the shift rail plugs when I bought it. For some reason I thought the newer trannies had be changed. The guys as Phoenix Hard Parts told me that even the 2001 still have plastic shift rail plugs. When I took the tranny out of the truck, I noticed that one of the studs on the transmission mount where it goes through the cross member was broken right off. Crazy. I think this transmission has been out of the truck before.

tranny mount

Hey there. I got a question for you. I have a 91 eddie bauer and when I put it in reverse, I have to wait a second for it to engage. When it does, it makes a loud clunk. Another person from the forum said that it was my tranny mounts. Is that what was happening to your ranger?

Is this a serious thing? Do I need to replace mounts immediately or can I still drive it normally and bear with the clunk?
