when i put the truck in 4x4 and i turn, it pops and grinds and makes an ungodly sound, truck moves fine, i was in a lill bit of mud the other day, and i got in a tight spot, so i stomped it, the truck shook. only in the front, like the wheels was wobling! im confuzed!
need some help, wanting to go to badlands, but this might just stop me!

a couple of things to look at.

1. Many times it can be Bound up rusted 'U' joints on the front axles.

2. Front Auto Hubs. They are notorious for going bad. They can pop in and out as the front axle spins causing a nasty sound.

Take the front tires off, slide the auto hub off , reinstall the tires and see if the noise goes away when in 4WD. that ould narrow the problem down to bad hubs if you are all quiet.

i got manual hubs!
so i know its not the manuals, could it be my manuals going bad? i have no clue how long they have been on the truck for! so they could be going out, but yet its odd that it only happens when im turning!!! when im strait in 4x4 it does great, and pulls me through, but when turning it makes noise! im not sure what it is!

well i just went and looked at, had some one move my truck with wheels at full turn, and backed up, there was deff. poping/grinding from u joint!
and i took a closer look at it! and the lill cross that ties the two jount tegether its missing something, theres a major gap in one of the holes that the cross goes into. im not sure if both sides are like that! but how easy is it to remove the assembly????? thanks!
