Hello everyone!
I just bought a 2014 explorer (PIU). Does anyone know of an adjustable height air suspension that would work on one of these vehicles? I work outdoors and somewhat frequently need to pass through DEEP muddy ruts and need about twice the suspension height that the explorer currently has (can be a bit less, but basically I need a lot more height.)
I ready a post where someone was saying that they don’t make lift kits for the explorer because of the CV axles getting damaged if it’s lifted and rides at speed yadda yadda.
I literally just need extra height for 30-60 feet at slow speeds, else I scrape the eve living hell out of the bottom and I’m afraid I’ll take an AC line out or worse.
One idea I had is to get lowering air suspension, but then add a spacer so that the car basically would be normal height in its “lowered” setting and then I can raise it to the sky for going over tall obstacles like dry mud ruts.
Has it been done? Is it harder than I’m thinking it will be to achieve?
I basically want something like the adjustable air suspension on a cayenne, sans buying an actual Porsche
Any suggestions?
