I have a 2000 xls 4.0 liter x.
I have an automatic transmittion.
I bought it earlier this month and today i dropped it off at the dealer for some covered repairs.
One thing that bother's me is a trans problem.
When on any type of an incline in drive if i leave of the brake pedal it starts coasting backwards like its in nuetral. The service desk told me thats "normal" for fords because they idling so low now adays.
I dont think it is normal because of idling low because my jeep grand cherokee idles lower than the x(jeep idles at 600rpm,and yes thats normal speed for it and it has no problem holding the drive gear on an incline).
The X has 56000 miles by the way.
Is it truely normal for a new ford to do this?
I think it might be the trans pump(torque convertor or valve body having a problem).
Any thoughts or help please:D

I say if it runs fine, leave it alone. Don't fix it if it aint broke!
