power antenia..god awful noise

ok the power antenia on my eddie makes this GOD AWFUL, LOUD grinding noise...people at work thaugh my car was gona blow up...lol...i pulled the fuse in the mentime...has anyone had this problem? i would like to replace it( most likely not another power as all of them have issues at somepoint), but it look like a royal pain in da arssssss! any easy methods or sugestions here fella's?

It's probably just the mast that needs to be replaced. It's got a kind of zipper attached to the mast that allows the antenna to be pulled into the power mechanism. Pretty easy to fix. Look on ebay. I'll put a pic of it on here for ya.

Pull the inner fender out. It's all right there.

When you get the antenna assembly out check out these instructions on replacing the mast. You might have to take the antenna motor cover off to get the broken parts out. I had to. If you remove the nut that holds the mast in and pull the mast right out you will be able to tell if the nylon "zipper" is broken in half and has to be replaced.
