My problem is the Power distribution Box 95 Ford explorer 4.0 the fuel pump replay. Once in a while on my truck will not start but if I open the power distrution box and unplug and plug back in my fuel pump relay the truck will start.

How do I fix this problem where the replay plugs in at can I replace that, or do have to replace the hold Power distribution box? And if so I does that come out.

Thanks for any help in advance..

I had a similar problem with my vt holden commodore. would crank over but not start. turned out to be a stuffed relay. usually relays get stuck open or closed and arent inremittent but this one was. i'd replace the relay or swap it with another relay thats the same if possible.

Right- how do you know it's the box, and not the relay? I'd replace the relay first...

I would replace relay also first. Most likely the relay is bad and sticks open when you shut dawn, and when you pull it out and replug it in it is allowing to close the circuit.

I have replace the replay I did that first I got it from the dealer, I replaced
the inertia switch this pass saturday, it ONLY DOES IT ON HOT DAYS?

Try some Electrical Contact Cleaner on the Relay Base (Relay-Socket) in the Power Distribution Box. Give it a good spray and let it dry for 30 minutes before reinserting the Relay in the Socket.

I already that I got the good stuff and spray almost sparyed the whole bottle cleaned all the contact well let them dry and put by the replays back about a month after I did that the same thing, it only does it when HOT or very humid.

Next time it does it, don't do anything until you use a multi meter on that relay harness. Check for continuity and voltage on the wires underneath the PDB for that relay. Look up how a relay works online (if you dont know) and the wire diagrams for the fuel pump circuits to trace them. AutoZone has wiring diagrams for free on their site to find the circuit.

By doing this, you can find the problem at the source. Pain in the rump? You betcha. Cheap to do it yourself? Most definitely.
